Interactive Streaming – Bringing the Internet to Life

Background to Interactive Streaming

The Company was approached by an existing Sky TV channel with a view to either buying all or part of the channel or alternatively build and supply games for the channel. Having studied the business model several flaws were identified. Firstly players wanting to have a bet were reliant upon the red button on their remote or telephoning in to the program. This made the whole process slow, unexciting and costly. It was also considered that Sky automatically acquired 25% of profits for the red button method. Secondly the whole TV operation was costly to run with multiple manned studios and presenters required. Another flaw identified was that Sky has just 7 million customers and support more than 15 pay to play game channels so potential customers were being spread among these channels. Lastly the content of the programs are limited by regulatory bodies. It was at this stage that XGames decided to research and develop its own World Wide Live and Interactive Broadcast over the Internet bringing one channel to millions broadband users. In fact predictions for 2007 suggest that getting on for a billion people were online globally.

Interactive Streaming – Next Generation Internet

Since 2004 we have been busy developing real–time game and trading broadcast technology; we have been pushing the boundaries as far as the existing technology allows, and in 2006 this has been reflected in our Patent–Pending Broadcasting Platform. XGames Broadcast can now be rolled out not only for live Internet Broadcasting, but also for IPTV and 3G Mobile Broadcasting. We have fully–staffed professional broadcasting studios in Wembley, England, used daily by our blue chip clients and by us for our live content. Our broadcast software has been developed in such a way that we can operate a one person studio with one presenter which makes the whole operation far more cost effective that traditional TV.

XGames can provide many other media capabilities to its customers which include the development of promotional videos and help file videos. Customer’s databases can realise their full potential with the use the compelling material that XGames manufacture. The advantages of this new medium are vast:For the very first time we are bringing the Internet to life through our representative. Professional presenters in our studio can actually communicate with players in real time and interact with them through chat. Importantly they can also providing betting information to educate players. Through interaction the presenter can explain the features of the game adding excitement, enthusiasm and interest and ultimately drive sales. All of this culminates in live games show experience for the player. Relationships are then built with players in a way that could be related to customer service given by shop staff in a face to face situation. This has not been possible before.

In conjunction with this we have a fully interactive back office whereby demographics can be identified in terms of which games are most popular at a certain time of day and which presenters are most successful at generating the biggest number of players. The XGames platform allows customers to have a choice in terms of the back office that they require and also the look of the studio and the content of each broadcast in terms of their brand. To explain further, the generic platform allows for one presenter at a given time to play broadcast the same program to customers of multiple licencees. During this process no mention is made of specific companies but collectively all players and their associated bets can be mentioned as a whole. Each licensee still has control over their own data base through the back office that XGames supplies to them and their customers would see a studio with the branding of the company. With this method the costs for the producer, studio, presenter etc are shared between the licensees. In future packages we are going to be able to provide a licensee wanting their own World Wide Live and Interactive Broadcast a turnkey solution specific to their brand. In this case not only would they have their own studio, presenter, producer etc but the content of the broadcast would be totally specific to their company enabling further possibilities to become available such as broadcasting in shops, pubs, clubs etc.

Unlike the Red Button method on Sky TV, users can create their own interface that is unique to their betting preferences, so their screen becomes their own betting slip therefore the content of each game can be very complex offering players many choices of what to bet on unlike TV channels where only one thing can be bet on at a time. The response times are quick as they do not have to dial in or use the red button. This also makes the games far more exciting and instantaneous. The call to action is immediate with Interactive Streaming software.
